Roof and metal sheeting refurbishment project using the RostFort range of rust control products |
Our client had rusted metal
sheeting and roofs. The rust damage ranged from heavy rust to light rust. Sandblasting was not a viable option due to environmental impact. The integrity of some of the metal sheeting would be compromised if sandblasted. The metal sheeting and roof required a metal primer and rust protection to be applied. A generic top coat was applied for aesthetic purposes. Our client required seven years minimum rust protection. |
Step one - surface preparation by removing loose rust, dirt and grease using RostPrep |
The metal sheeting and roof was in poor condition |
RostPrep rust
remover is applied to the surface. The chemical reaction will loosen
rust, oil and grease from the surface. Once left for 20 - 30 min, simply was off with water and a high pressure spray. |
Step two - apply RostFort rust converter and metal primer to the surface and apply generic top coat of paint |

Rust control project for a townhouse complex - gates, car ports and metal structures |
Our client had rusted gates and
car ports. The rust damage ranged from heavy rust to light rust. The structures required rust removal, a metal primer and rust protection and top coat to be applied. A generic top coat was applied for aesthetic purposes. Our client required five years minimum rust protection. |
